Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Your Holiday Decorations

Just like that: Thanksgiving is over and before you've even finished the leftover turkey, ornaments are being hung on trees, candles are going in the menorah, presents are being wrapped, and the over-indulgence that is the holidays is in full swing.

If you want to deck your halls with boughs of holly, or just hand out lumps of coal, we recommend sending photos of your Christmas Decorations to the HEART OF GLASS BLOG and then returning often to view the BEAUTIFUL examples of Holiday Decorating!

Earlier I ask for photos of your HOLIDAY DECORATIONS - I'm today posting
a few of them - we'll post these until 1/1/2008 so if you have photos send them!
Doesn't have to include BLENKO GLASS

This tree is a WVU tree with a 1967 Beanie - which Im told all freshmen were required to wear~
Click on this tree its made of MOUNTAIN DEW CANS!

This tree belongs to the Kosla family of Chicago - the Guard Bear is from England - rumor is its a full time job to guard the over 6,000 pieces of BLENKO GLASS! Lovely traditonal tree.
Note: 1) Yes. The 'send your photos' is my way of coping as I have done NO Holiday Shopping and now have very little time to research and write. 2) You can send the photo anonymously or ask me not to include your name - or use a FAKE NAME.

The WVU Tree is terrific.
Hope someone links this to the Sports Board.
I lost my beannie long ago, it was a requirement. Many of these symbolic rite of passage are no longer a part of education.
Sad.
Great photos.
Enjoy your break. Do not open books, have fun and eat lots of food.
