Are the metal molds make in WV?
Does the designer create the mold?
What is the history of blenko molds? Can one purchase the no longer used molds?
I don't have the answers - did write to BLENKO GLASS - will post the response when it arrives.
T. Kosla from Chicago wrote to say BLENKO uses both wood and metal molds and the mold maker is a Blenko employee.
I have written to Blenko 9/2 /08 for answer and more info about the mold maker, when the response arrives I'll post.

To all of the people wanting to buy burned out or broken Blenko moulds. I brought up that subject with Katie the marketing director soon after I took the pictures of the moulds. I was told at that time they were concerned they may be copied or reused. We talked about it. Maybe there will be a change of Heart.

Katie would certainly be in a position to know about this.
I would think, if you were to put that mold as a Item for display, I would like to see some color to differentiate the model and the outer body, just to make sure people know what they are looking at instead of a single tone.
Did anyone find out if they will sell the molds? I'd like a dozen for my new renovation kitchen the decorator says we can mount them on oak and then hang on the wall as art.
