Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Click here: This is not my blog. (a brief part of the transcript)
Now, this man, who was actually Derek Poundstone, looked like The Hulk without the green. He was about my build but he had muscles bulging out and around him making him bigger than a doorway. I'd never seen anything like that and I realized that this must be one of the competitors for The World's Strongest Man Competition that will be starting in Charleston ... that's right ... it will be in Charleston, WV this weekend and will wrap up next weekend (and will then be on tv forever after that). So I asked the man if he was here for the competition and he said that he was. We chatted for a few minutes and I asked him how he thought he was going to do in the contest against Charleston, WV native Phil Pfister and he said that he thought he had a good shot at winning since he's coming in as the number 1 seed.

If this weren't a football weekend my staff and I would go.
Hulk is my idea of a real man.
What about you Ms. Hilary?

You left yourself open with that comment, may I ask other than former Blenko Glassworkers retired, what do you like?
Don't respond. Just kidding you.

You didn't ask but I do like men to have muscles and be able to pull tractors, throw kegs etc.

I almost got Rog to take me to this event, only decided working on this old house came first. I am still awaiting the grandbaby's arrival and Lilly the two year old called me and played her paino and sang for me and she calls me MOM, her mind is thinking about coming home with MOM. Now that is good Karma. I smile like Blenko shines when I think of that child who is so much like I was when that age. Life is gran then we grow-up! Some of us do, if given the chance to think about our selfs while helping others. Football got me upset from the get go. Everytime the ref's do WVU like that they fall apart. I think EC had that figured from the get go. Running that clock down like that was that good Karma? Thought I was watching unfair football and what not to do to be a winning team, cause if that is the way WVU got to play, who wants too? Those young men play the game of football very well, to me that was not a game, it was an joke. For adults who ever the shoe fits to play football like that.I'm glad to be a WVU fan. Roxie
