Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Blenko the People - David Jenkins

David Jenkins – Antique Department

15 years at Blenko

Favorite thing about working at Blenko: Loves dealing with people from all over the world who use Blenko Glass – their requests are always interesting and filling them is always fun.

Hobbies: Avid Fisherman – if he's not at Blenko working, hes out fishing

What people should know about Blenko: Blenko is one of the last hand blown stained glass factories in the country, and their glass is used all over the world. They are a state treasure.

Currently excited about: Making 43 stained glass windows (in a broken dalle * Dalles as in Dalle De Verremosaic style) for a Church.

Last year my small church group went to blenko to ask about windows, jenkins was one of two or three people who helped us. They found an artist for us. They worked with us for more than a month at no cost if we had it to do again we would probably do the kind of glass install they do in house.
These men at blenko are professional not greedy and they do as she says know glass and our artist said blenko is the best for church windows.

Contentment (also called complacence) is the neuro-physiological experience of satisfaction and being at ease in one's situation, bodymind (cf. John Money[1]), body, and/or mind.

Contentment is what I see in the eyes of Jenkins and the two other men. Everyone should find such a peace and joy in their work.
Thank you Hilary for allowing these men to share a bit of their joy with us.

Do more of these!
What about all the people of Blenko?
There are 50 right?
One a day for 50 days?
I like this and I like hearing their words.

Dr Hilary
I also mis spell a great number of words, not to worry life continues and there are many more of us imperfect people than those people who do nothing but
correct or ask to correct
the errors of people who dare to take an action.
Life is much too short to stand idle and fret over i before e.
How is Columbus treating you?
