Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. This place is exceptional, the shopkeeper is helpful, the place is devoted to American Glass.
A few years ago Hilary recommended we all join and get the magazine, must acknowledge I didn't follow through.
We do visit each and every time we come South to WV.
If you haven't been put this on your 'to do list'.

The Blenko Man
is worth the trip to Weston.
I would love to know the gentleman who donated the glass, designed and paid to have the Blenko Man made.

Signs of spring are everywhere in the Tug River Valley. The motorcycles are out, the snow is just about gone and people are wearing t-shirts and light jackets.

But, are we out of the woods? Not quite.

The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of snow later tonight. So your wishes for Spring my dear Doc Glasslady will have to wait another 45 or 50 days.

Did you do an update on the status on your family's car?
I missed this.
What was the final outcome?
Did the other drivers sue, did your insurance pay? was anyone hurt?
Was your car a total? Left hanging in Nebraska yet again.

Everyone reading this should immediately donate to the WV Museum of American Glass.
This is the 2nd major Blenko Glass exhibit in two years.
This facility does more than anyone else (no offense Glasslady and I know none will be taken) to keep WV and American Glass in the news. To educate the public and to make glass available for us to view.
Glasslady suggests you donate your best glass to WVMG and I'm suggesting even before you donate glass you donate money.
Thank you

Status of my Family's Benz:
The car remains at Spring Hill Frame and Body Shop since Dec 24th 2009.
My Mom plans to write a Book Called 101 Reasons NOT to Buy a Benz #1. Parts must come from German. #2 The Dealer LIED when he promised a Loaner Car. #3 ____.
Anyway I'll let you know when the car is repaired.
Good news we are all OK. The car did what it was designed to do.. and fell apart at impact of 20 miles per hour. hjh
