Hillary:

As long as we’re on the subject of water bottles, I thought I’d send you something from my other hobby. I make greeting cards; stamped, embossed, you name it, if it involves paper, I will find a way to make a card out of it. Last week I took a class at one of my favorite scrap/stamp shop. Iris folding looks so cool, and so complicated, but it is actually very easy. The results are pretty amazing, if you consider what the back of the card looks like. I bought a book that has over 400 different templates and patterns for placing the folded paper strips. Unfortunately, there was one shape they didn’t have. I decided I’d create a water bottle template. The fun part is that I can make this in any color, or combination of colors that suit my fancy. The attached was my first try.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting my cards! I've got this one over my desk at work. I have two different green water bottles on top of my file cabinet (firmly adhered with quake grip, this IS Los Angeles), and when I showed my co-workers the card, they didn't recognize the shape right away. They're not glass people, I guess. Gotta educate them.

Beautiful card, love your color progression on the Blenko classic water bottle. Especially impressive when you consider the average size of a greeting card! Lots and lots of small folded bits of paper.
Lovely handmade or art cards are things I display.
Thank you for sharing with the blog readers.

We all want directions, or at least the women in my group do.
Glasslady print the damn directions so Buckndi doesn't have 50 emails.
It is blenko related my dear.

I sent Hillary instructions on how to do this, with links to online resources for the basic square template and layout directions. She can post them as her schedule permits.
