Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.
Hope you have a good weekend. Your Mom got you something as pretty as Blenko. We did not see any Blenko.Just wish I was your size, cause I'd of wore it first. Guess most people in this area know what Blenko is so it will not be sold at any church rummmage sale. Now where I am from alot of people don't know what Blenko is, so it sales real cheap, my kind of prices. My baby sister is buying Blenko at eight dollars a vase. We were going shopping and then I got this flu bug. BOO! I have company coming so who knows, might make my way down to Milton, good weather for it, not to hot to walk and the trees are turning and making their own art work. The humming birds have left so it will not be long before it stays cold at nite. Boo again. I do not think that blenko will remake anything because they are not known for that. Am I right? Might get a piece of Blenko made if you special order maybe? Am I right on this? I have to hook up my printer to get me a coupon, packed it up out of the way when we started remodeling this old house. I could get lucky and get that Lamp that I need for my living room. Roxie

I really like the idea of the designer and/or glass blower signing the BLENKO piece. I remember Mr. Bayliss declining to sign a piece of glass for a woman because he had not designed it (plagiarism, he said).
Perhaps for the next visitor's center event the glass blower could be on the floor signing! I did meet the glassblower of the 2008 birthday piece when he came to the showroom to talk to Mr. Bayliss. Bayliss went in to great detail to explain the complexities of making this piece and giving the glassblower credit.
It was a LONG time ago but I seem to remember at the Morgantown glass factories, the glass blower was a very prestigious (well paying?) position. Hillary does a nice job of recognizing the BLENKO employees.

Will they do more Ruby now with new management?
Will they make things from the older molds again?
These are the things we want.
I only want things from older BLENKO molds as long as the company doesn't duplicate/replicate to the point of not being able to tell a difference.
Replications are something I would purchase.
I think the skill level isn't there to produce, what do you think?
