Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Keith Lahti - WV Potter

Examples of items available from Keith Lahti.

Keith Lahti - Potter's relationship with my family goes way back. When I was in 2nd grade I did a camp called ' The Dragon Camp' basically a theater and drama camp for children. My Mom knew Keith and approached him to make a 'dragon' for me as a keepsake for the summer events. Keith handcrafted a dragon that was a lamp - the fire comes out of the dragons' mouth (I'll try to take photo and add later to blog) . Keith is very talented, he is a full time craftsperson living in rural West Virginia. For about 5 years now he has been teaching his craft to others.
Each year Keith Lahti has an OPEN HOUSE for established customers, he sells everything left over from that season at a reduced price so people can buy MADE IN WEST VIRGINIA crafts for HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING.
This year Keith gave me permission to invite all of you to his OPEN HOUSE! If you can't go phone, he might be able to do phone orders.
Below is a copy of my invitation - YOU ARE ALL INVITED!

You must have been reading my mind, my poor Dottie is 14 and near death most weeks. The cremation urn is one of the nicer on the web.
Thank you.

This is a Maryland Farm house featured on HGTV I believe. The story mentions Dave Osburn from your Blenko Glass.
Bullseye glass is thick, handblown glass with a circular center section that resembles a bull's-eye. The glass works beautifully as replacement glass in older homes, lending a classic character to windows. Glass artist David Osburn still practices the medieval glassblowing technique, turning out new panes of bull's-eye glass that give an authentic look to older homes.

I visited Osburn Glass last year, recommend this for colorful glass and prices are very low.
Perhaps you can write about this company so others will discover Osburn Glass. He has the same shop Charlie Gibson once ran, I have shelves of Gibson glass.
