Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. Under her NERB score thread, Hillary mentions that this Halloween, she will dress as a female Ben Franklin. She and her girlfriends will dress as founding father-ettes. Too cool. Have to say, Miss Hillary, I'm a little disappointed you didn't dress as a BLENKO decanter! (Joke).

I'm so glad you find time for a little fun. Halloween is high on my list of holidays too. Something about fall in WV with the leaves changing, the chill in the air, the pungency of the fallen leaves, is magical. Be sure to listen to Amy Lee's version of "Sally's song" from the movie "Nightmare before Christmas" before going out for Halloween. Almost as wonderful as glass hand-blown in West Virginia!

I want the purple owl piece that you posted a picture of a few topics ago. That would have to be one of my dream pieces.

As you suggested I bought 5 pieces of Bella Bocca. Its in a box under my bed growing in age and value.
Several people I work with also have the Fostoria and Seneca Glass and Warwick from WV - if you change or add these I can let them send messages to the collectors clubs for each.

Sunday 9:50

Dear Margie: I, too, am looking for a Sunday am post!

Regarding some of the recent posts, my guess is that most of the people who read this blog are 25-50 years older than Hillary. If you fall into this bracket, (verbally) nurture Hillary as if she were a niece. Hillary has put this blog together because of her love of West Virginia and its fine tradition of hand blown glass.

Readers with more time and financial resources can send Hillary links, photos, and, at the very least, positive comments. I think it is time for the Huntington Herald Dispatch to drive over to Milton and do some objective, investigative journalism as well as some feature articles with pictures. The HHD could even do a weekly Blenko photo for Hillary!

Larry, from Texas, you have given us some great information lately. Sol, you get the most improved behavior award for your recent blog posts!

Since we have been using so many quotes on this blog, my Sunday morning quotes are:

Remember the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Another good one: Don't shoot the messenger (our dear Hillary).

Have a good day everyone!

No No Dear WestVirginia Janis,
Neither Lewis nor I are 25 years old. (10 years) Nor do I want to treat Hillary as a neice.
Wait! WestVirginia Janis can you fix me up with your neice Glass Lady?

Anonymous: Get a name or make up one. New colors always bring new people to Blenko!
Sol: Bayliss Design Team is still contracting with Blenko last I heard. I will check this and get back to you.
Janis: We watch this film 2 or 3 times during the Halloween season yearly great film.
Bridgett: Buy a 2nd set for under the bed, and use the Bella. Blenko is durable. I am using glasses my parents owned before my birth.
Chritkahn: We don't discuss Asian Glass here but if you have photos and want to share the email is theblenkoproject@aol.com. Consider www.blenkoglass.com for american glass, just for diversion.
Margie: I was out of town from Friday - Sunday. The blog should have posted daily at 6am. w/o me.
Apologize for any problem.
I was discouraged or frustrated not by the comments, there are always negative comments and they have a place. I spoke with Mr. Blenko and he was unaware of the communication problem, so hopefully it will resolve.
Janis: Your kindness is greatly appreciated. I certainly can use photos from all readers, often they are 'lost' so if you don't get a response from me re-send the spam filter is very high.
OK enough from me. More positive comments about your Blenko, please!

Hilary
The bible says: " This too shall pass," my Dad said:' the cream always rises to the top', you are pure, honest, hard working and your success is not related to Blenko. Having made this statement let me also say you will always be connected to Blenko Glass due to selfless promotion of the product and workers. We the customers and collectors appreciate you.
