Glass Fruit for FALL TABLE DECOR

"Pear bud vase" #532 with Sea Green body and Chartreuse stem & leaf. Designed 1953, 9.75" tall
Reader from Georgia writes:

Can you tell me the history of Bleko Glass Fruits? When they started,
what fruits have been made, do they still make the fruit and what it will
cost to do a fruit basket for my table? Should I look to ebay or can I buy
new?
I'll look for the answer but hurry Oct is coming!

Well Oct is here. I'm so far behind in letters - I apologize. The answer is ' all off the above' shop ebay for fruits and veggies, shop vintage stores, and phone the visitors center. Spoke with the VC last week and there were 8 different items available.
We sent emails to our 'experts' about the origins so when I know - you'll know - a quick review did turn up this bit of info - Winslow Anderson designed a pear. The above photo is from the Blenko Museum (thanks again to Damon C. and BLenko Museum for providing such excellent documentation of BLenko history and allowing us use of photographs).
Readers if you have photos of fruit or veggies you'd like to share - please send to theblenkoproject@aol.com or if you have suggestions for Georgia re: obtaining a full fruit basket make comments below.

I started to collect fruit and veggies last year have 12 now at the average of $35 per piece.
It is expensive, but if you look you can find for $50 or less @
excellent investment.

YES! You passed the NERD test. Will be seeing you Wednesday. That pear is lovely. I find that I like the older blenko the most. Just something about the style and the colors. The 1950's and early 60's when we still went by that ladies do's and ladies don't book. Also a time when artist and companies took more pride in their work. Now days it is about the more, mass production and making everything the same, attempting to get flawless at what we do, when nothing is perfect and it ends up costing us. I am glad that we both got Blessed this week. You passed your test and Jake is living. Thank you Jesus! Just Smile. I was going down to your parents to do some weeding, rain showers are keeping me home. I know by the time I get to Charleston it will rain. Well I talk to much and thanks for the information on the piece that I was guessing what it was, need to read article. Bye! Roxie
