Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Do you know if anyone at the BLENKO factory reads your blog? We haven't had a post from an employee since the "reorganization." Hope we still get updates, corrections, additions, etc. from someone in-house once in a while!

Am looking forward to seeing your archive on the designers.

Take care,

WV Janis

The Huntington Herald tells me we are one of the 'most popular blogs' so we get lots of visits.
With the 'reorganization' I'm certain everyone is very busy. My bet is any changes someone will be letting us know the blog gets dozen of anonymous comments that aren't published weekly as I like to verify info before its published unless it comes directly from BLenko. hjh

We have 7 or 8 signed m carter bowls and vases. Nice gold and blue and purples and frosted items.
Never saw the gentleman.
Obvious talent. Having talent and doing well in factory work isn't always a cohesive package I would guess, what are your thoughts Hilary.

Would be interesting to have you interview Matt Carter about his experience at Blenko
was he able to be a true artist
as Husted was allowed
or was he limited, he was there with RB right?
These photos are very nice, for the first time I want to learn more about this designer.
You have your assignment Ms. H.

this made me laugh very loud, of couse they don't after all they are reorganized into a lean steam machine that runs without customer base or employee loyalty or support of community why would they need support of blog and a few readers?
Respond to this if you can Hilary.
