Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Photos from Bruce

Hi Hillary,
Just trying some different light settings to see if I can get rid of the blue in my photos without losing the correct color spectrum. Thought you and the bloggers might enjoy. The first photo is of a group of 579's in Sea Green, Tangerine and Jonquil.

The second photo is one of those situations that come up when your shopping. What do you do when you stumble across a nice piece of art glass that isn't Blenko. Welllll, you buy the thing silly. Anyway, thought ya'll might enjoy this pair of Rainbow decanters I have found along the way. the green one came from an east Texas flea market and the tangerine came from a mini mall in Lawton Oklahoma. I don't remember exactly but I think I only paid about $20 for each.

The third photo is one of those where I enjoy seeing the various designs that can come from the same mold at Blenko. I have already shared the Anderson #535 Pouch vase before but the Turquoise #967 flat-sided pitcher and Amethyst #961-S flat-sided vase are new.

Hope you enjoy,
Bruce

Your glass and the photographic images are exciting.
They inspire me to buy more and be more selective in my puchases.

Why are my comments not showing? The last 2 weeks nothing I write is appearing.
