Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Princeton, WV - The Bronze Look

Each week new collectors ask : Where to look for glass, what to buy and what should I pay.

As you know I'm a dentist - not a glass arts major and at age 25 - my knowledge of most all things is very limited.

One thing I do know for certain is: THE BRONZE LOOK in Princeton, WV has a large selection of Made In WV - Made in USA glass and art.

As a new collector one of my first steps would be to contact Randal at The BRONZE LOOK with my 'wish list'.

The Bronze Look website is updated weekly, their merchandise changes daily and the selection is always one of the best on the East Coast.

Where else could you find Ron Hinkle Glass, Blenko Glass, items by Kelsy Murphy, Dave Fetty, Randy Rider etc under one roof. The prices are very good - often less than retail.

Recently I wrote about the Autumn Bottle made exclusively for THE BRONZE LOOK by Randy Rider of Blenko Glass. This was a limited edition ( photo ). If you haven't purchased this bottle or made arrangements to get The Bronze Looks
newsletters do so now.
Heart of Glass will attempt to do monthly updates of new Glass from The Bronze Look beginning in July 2010.

Today I read the comment by annonymous about the mood at Blenko
My belief is the mood is improved.
My last visit to the VC was good
Not enough glass, or enough colors, but mood was good.

When a lady ignores you it means one of three things
(1) she isn't interested
(2) she has a significant other
or (3) she's blind.
Let us assume Glassdoc is not blind.

What a questionable tradition Blenko has in charging for the manufacturer to sign an artist's work.

Shame on Walter Blenko, a lawyer, for signing a Winslow Anderson or Wayne Husted or John Nickerson work of art...kinda like the paint manufacturer signing a Picasso!
