Title

Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Tell us more about the Blenko Project board and board members:

How many board members are there?
Presently, who sits on the board?
Where does the board meet? In person or in cyberspace?
What is the role of the board?

Ugh! I volunteer last year as did Lewis and you refused to respond to our resumee or request to serve, other than one time for me and twice for Lewis we haven't even been ask to be yardmasters at Blenko. Talk about insulted.
The only way I'll feel better is if you agree to meet for coffee, coke, dinner, dancing?

I have served and hope she will ask me to continue.
We meet on line 3 or 4 times a year. My most recent job was to write letters to all campaigns suggesting the use of Blenko Glass in the inagural parties and sending photos of Blenko Glass. We promote Blenko. I also send photos of Blenko to 7 different TV shows that another board member had contact with for possible display in scenes.
Simple things if they work.
We also talk about the yard at Blenko and Hillary's futuristic view of a Blenko that will be tourist trap for entire family.

I am also a board member, my job is to write to WV state legislators making them aware Blenko is factory in Cabell - Putnam area. That Blenko employees a large number of people and produces great glass that can be engraved and used for most any occassion. Got several letters back saying they had or were using blenko that year for board members
so its a little rain drop of difference.
We brain storm advoacy issues ways we can promote Blenko w/o stepping on Blenko's toes or doing something they wouldn't approve of.
We try to get Blenko in our local newspapers. We have a total of 27 times this year. Small stories about items of interest.
Again rain drops.
