Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

I agree with Mama llama and anonymous #2. You should let go of your anger. Sure, Hillary has rose tinted glasses. Many of us do. However, what's the alternative? Be resentful and bitter your whole life? Resentment, bitterness, and not being happy for others is deadly to one's immune system.

Historically, West Virginia has a negative image to the rest of the nation. Outsiders see us as poster people for the movie Deliverance, ignorant rednecks. Many of the West Virginians on this blog have been to graduate school and have advanced degrees. Other readers, who may not have much formal schooling, have tremendous common sense and wisdom and have acquired knowledge in ways that are as valuable as sitting and a classroom.

What do we have to gain by plastering the internet with comments about problems, disappointments, and weaknesses? Sure, BLENKO and Milton aren't perfect. Few small towns are (not even Mayberry). If collecting hand-blown glass from West Virginia makes people happy, so be it. For those who aren't interested, there is plenty of Made in China glass available at Pier 1 Imports, much of it looks similar to BLENKO.

Perhaps you should borrow some rose colored glasses, at least for a day! I learned to let go of anger and resentment and am a better person for it!

I stopped. He is charming and funny and talented.
The glass was similar to the 50s glass and too busy with color for me. I like one color
I am boring.
The designs were excellent, I recommend you visit if you have not.

The new Osburn glass website is
www.osburnglass.com however you must use the toolbar, not yahoo or google, as this website is new and hasn't been listed with those two search engines yet. The toolbar is usually found at the top of the screen. The pictures are updated frequently.
