Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

What is the news with Blenko Glass, do they plan to file Chapter 13, are they taking orders, what is the word?
This lack of information makes
closure more likely.
Fenton was always announcing we
are taking orders, orders will keep us alive etc.
The Fenton Collectors were proactive.

We did a group letter to all 10 people.
Saw Katie on TV, good for Blenko to make a public announcement of the need, for those not reading the blog.
Collectors should be doing mass emails.
Let us know if we need to take other actions.

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "BLENKO GLASS SHUTTING DOWN PRODUCTION":

Ed Maier/Big Two Mile Gas Co. should be ashamed of themselves. (As an individual he may be a decent human being, but as a businessman? Not so much.) In this current economic crisis to seize the entire contents of a relatively small company's bank accounts without the courtesy of advance warning, leaving them unable to pay any bills - after waiting several years to claim the money owed to them! - is just not nice. Now there are even more people out of jobs, and a fine company - the last in the US to make sheet glass by hand for stained glass windows - will most likely close forever after more than 100 years in business. Shame, shame, shame.

I'm with Sue M: Is there anything we can do to help?

WOULD BE NICEER THAN NICE IF A COUPLE TIMES WEEKLY BLENKO UPDATED THE BLOG WITH WHATS GOING ON.
MIGHT KEEP ME FROM READING AND BELIEVING THE GOSSIP ON THE MILTON BLOGS OR ELSE YOU HILARY COULD ALLOW ALL COMMENTS TO LIVE AND WE COULD GOSSIP.

Will a Blenko Collectors Society exist with a Blenko Glass Company that is functional?

I won't publish comments ( must admit a few get by me) that are cut and paste, or contain swear words, or 'bad mouth' people.
We don't manage Blenko so we don't know how difficult it is.
We don't hire and fire. The main purpose of the blog is to promote Blenko and West Virginia Glass to promote West Virginia the beauty of the state, the warm friendly people, to welcome glass collectors to Milton and West Virginia.
If you look, I'll bet you can find an outlet for the 'gossip' and 'bad mouthing of people' you desire. This is not the appropriate blog. hjh
