Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Question of the day

Where to buy vintage Blenko Glass locally?

The Purple Moon 906 Quarrier Street Charleston, W. Va. is the source I most enjoy. Chuck and his wife share my love of modern furniture and vintage Blenko. http://www.thepurplemoon.com - Chuck has a website, you can shop on line, and he maintains a blog.
If you have a shop you want to add in the tri - state area email the info to theblenkoproject@aol.com
My national practical board is end of the month - I haven't enough time before the exam but after I'll attempt to do a list of safe ebay sellers, and local sellers from the emails you have sent the last six months.
New collectors will value this information. Thank you.

Hillary, Back in mid January we tried to hit the antique shops in Charleston area, found the shops on D st. behind the mound but google sent me to the wrong block trying to find the Purple Moon and we never found it . What is the best way to get to it. Found another cane in old central city Huntington, Dave said it might have been made by him and Jessy mainly because the collor looks like blenko saphire and is ground on the end the way they did it. Thanks Larry T.

The people at Taylor Books helped me find the PURPLE MOON. If you leave Taylor books, turn left on Capitol St. At the corner of Capitol and Quarrier, you will see the Cafe de Paris and the Public Library. Turn left on Quarrier, heading away from the library and the Purple Moon is down the block on your left.

I always find it easier to park and do all of this on foot as there are so many one way streets.
