Heart of Glass - Blenko Glass

Blenko Glass is a West Virginia treasure that spans generations. Nothing symbolizes the state of West Virginia better or more beautifully than Blenko Glass. We will discuss current and former craftsmen and designers and how important it is that Blenko and West Virginia glass be appreciated and valued by the younger generation.

Free Thoughts from a Reader - Your Response?

A blog friend and Blenko Collector currently involved in 'Docs w/o Borders' sent the following:
Dr. Hill Glasslady,
Ask the "Heart of Glass" group what things they can give up, things in their life and home they don't need. Also what things they continue to L O N G I N G L Y desire (for instance the large husted 'football' decanter in pink). I want to hear your response also.
My Own answer is: Things I don't really need! -More friends on Facebook
The latest Kindle
Obama's anything
Birkin Bag
Backyard pool
Disc / disk TV
Sports Car
More Blenko designed by anyone other than Husted.
HJH's Response
OK - I posted, we'll see what this brings - my response is "I have too much of everything "- and I desire (a) Guardian angels with a sense of humor (b) To develop Ruth B. Ginsberg's bravura or even a tad. (c) good health and a long life for my family and friends. (d) long and prosperous life for all West Virginia Glass manufacturers - big and small. (e) more people reading their local newspapers and becoming involved in local government. hjh

This one is thought provoking, you as Justice Ginsberg? No not even on Halloween.
Stay gentle, sweet, innocent and leave Law and Politics
to those less fortunate.

FLAT SCREEN TV
BOTH MY PARTNER AND I AGREE WE CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT COMPUTERIZED WESTLAW AND FLAT SCREEN TVs.
OTHER THAN MY TRACTOR AND JIGSAW I COULD GIVE UP MOST OTHER TOOLS ON THIS MINI FARM.
GLASS, I ALSO HAVE TOO MUCH, I HAVE NO PLANS TO STOP BUYING. FOUND A FOSTORIA STEMWARE FOR $5 A STEM LAST WEEK.
THE BARGAINS ARE OUT THERE. LIKE BRUCE SAYS YOU HAVE TO LOOK AND ALSO STUDY GLASS MAKERS.

We also have too much clutter
and each item cost a great deal.
Thing I couldn't live without?
My gkids and family, my books, my glasses, and a car. Oh yes and senior discounts.
